The anatomy of a breakthrough performance:
When you really nail it. When you get that extra gear. When you feel like you finally are racing with the crowd you’ve been chasing for a while…what does it take to get there?
1️⃣ Sweat the small stuff, because it all rolls up to big impacts in training & on race day! Examples of this can be equipment choices (including bike maintenance!) fuel & hydration decisions both daily and on race day, and making small, manageable steps continually to reduce stress and get quality sleep.
2️⃣ Commitment at the *right* costs. This means showing up and doing the best at every workout. Don’t just put in the time, make the time quality. Doing this will also allow you to make more sound decisions on rest days or effort adjustments when you truly need them.
3️⃣ Allow yourself to succeed! 🥇 Giving yourself permission to excel. Create a winning narrative and keep reading it to yourself. See yourself at your best when you make your race plan and keep that vision alive all the way through the finish line.
We all hit our plateaus. But we don’t have to settle for them! Breakthroughs can happen to any of us, at any age, at any season of life. 💪🏼
Making these shifts can give you the ticket to a BIG day if you put in the right work and approach it with a winning mindset!
